There is abundance of free script fonts which are available these days, but this doesn’t necessarily make things easier for designers. Combination of correct font style as per packaging design and brand is a very crucial aspect of any designing. ![]() Formal scripts are based on letterforms of 17th and 18th century while the nature of casual scripts is less formal, more active hand. ![]() They can be classic or quirky, serious or playful, monoline or varied weight. A cursive typeface can instantly transform a design into an elegant one and automatically add flair of personality to a product. They imitate the fluidity of handwriting building on the elegant letterforms of calligraphers. Script fonts can never be outdated and depending upon the nature of packaging design, and it gets adopted effectively. Depending upon the mood and message of brand font style is utilized. It is famously known for its flexible nature as it is highly adaptable across various forms of media, which can be small and large, print and digital, animated and static. Sans serifs are one of the practical design choices, the clean lines and whitespaces work well with many packaging design approaches and styles. Best for displaying or body text and are still considered the most economical, efficient, clean, bold and modern choice. It is a typeface which is universally accepted by most packaging designers and can take on the personality of the design where they use.
